About Acquire Media

A dark control room with many monitors showing charts and data

Acquire Media used advanced technology to deliver text and multimedia news with guaranteed reliability, in formats that made content instantly usable and searchable.

Built for people who depend on the news

The company served the news, digital publishing, and financial services communities. Those customers depended on the speed of the delivery service, its reliability, support that answered around the clock, and the ability to handle many formats and delivery options.

Its specialty was news and other time-sensitive content. Acquire Media acquired it from publishers and distributed it to corporate servers, websites, and end users with near-zero latency and pinpoint filtering.

From world-known publishers to a single tweet

Syndication and delivery customers included widely recognized news sources, industry publications, and news and content sites from around the world. The service also carried blogs, websites, regulatory filings, and social posts. By the company’s own count that added up to more than 400,000 articles a day.

Every article was enhanced with a detailed taxonomy, so that a reader or an application could ask for the information it needed and receive it when it mattered.

What this website is for

This site revisits that work and explains it in plain terms, with practical guides for anyone who moves news from one place to another. Historical product names are kept to explain the original approach. They are not a promise that those products are available.

New accounts and press release distribution are provided on PRNow, which manages its own accounts and services. This website does not provide access to historical Acquire Media accounts or feeds.
