Syndication is how one story reaches many places without being rewritten for each of them. Acquire Media built its name on making that process fast, controlled, and dependable for publishers and news providers.
One story, many destinations
A publisher produces an article once. A syndication service accepts it in whatever format the newsroom already uses, works out what it is about, converts it to a consistent structure, and passes it on to every customer entitled to receive it. Each of those steps has to happen in moments, because a story that arrives late has already lost most of its value.
The work in the middle is what separates syndication from simply forwarding files. Categorization attaches subjects, industries, places, and companies to the story. Normalization turns a dozen house styles into one predictable document. After that, a recipient can ask for “energy stories from these three sources” and receive exactly that.
What a syndication service should let you do
- Deliver digital content to multiple destinations at the same moment.
- Create flexible micro-channels, such as one subject, one region, or one customer.
- Decide who is entitled to receive what, and change it without rebuilding a feed.
- Run transactional websites where customers acquire content on their own.
- Support the editorial workflow instead of adding a step that delays publication.
Managing the content coming in
Syndication runs in both directions. A website operator who receives feeds from several providers has the mirror image of the publisher’s problem: different formats, different schedules, and no single place to see whether everything arrived.
Inbound content management brings those feeds under one set of monitoring and administrative tools. You can see what arrived, what failed, and what each source is contributing, which makes it far easier to decide what is worth keeping.
The Syndication Suite approach
The original Acquire Media platform packaged these ideas as Syndication Suite, a turnkey service for managing text and multimedia feeds. It accepted content in any format, processed it through a real-time categorization and normalization engine, and delivered tagged content by the company’s own protocol suite, FTP, email, or RSS. Subscribers managed preferences, entitlements, and day-to-day operations from a web interface.
Syndication Suite is described here to explain the approach. It is not offered through this website.
Syndicating your own news today
If the content you need to move is a company announcement, press release distribution is the practical route. You submit the release once, it is placed across news sites, and you receive a report showing where it ran. New accounts and distribution are handled on PRNow.
